Welcome!
I'll be the first to say it: drawing isn't easy. If it was, everyone and their pets would be filled in art galleries, and the art galleries would be the next Myspace which is nearly almost true itself... but that's a different story. Drawing is a craft. It doesn't matter how beautiful a person is, how rich they are, etc. It's a craft, it takes time- some longer then others- and it's only limited by it's creator.
I remember being deadly new to the art world- and by deadly new, I mean, "I can't draw a circle" new. I'm still baffled by how some others can't remember being new to the art world- it's like walking into a new school on your first day in preschool. Things are new, and sometimes people forget that.
I'm here to bring out my past to help others who were in my spot currently, bring them with me so we can suffer together. I'm making this site solely dedicated to people who want to learn realism, but need a boast to learn. Realism is easy to understand, yet it's difficult at the same time. For me, it was a lot of blood, sweat and pencils, and I'm going to be mean and drag others with me.
Are you ready?
A Few Notes Before You Begin
Okay, don't click that link yet. Just read this first.*THE DRAWINGS ARE IN THUMBNAILS. PLEASE CLICK ON THEM TO SEE THEM IN A BIGGER SIZE.
*THE WORKS HERE ARE COPYRIGHTED. PLEASE ASK MY PERMISSION TO USE, UNLESS THE DRAWING IS FAMOUS OR SOMETHING.
*In my short and useless "About Me" page, I mention how I learned realism from Betty Edward's "The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain". I can no way in my entire life time, explain realism like she can. Seriously, this isn't a replacement for that book. Go rent or buy it now. You will learn a million of things from that book then you would learn from me. This is just a platform for beginners, but everything I learned is so much better explained in that book.
*Please, do the BEFORE assignment BEFORE reading the lesson and the AFTER assignment AFTER reading the lesson. That's what they're there for, and that's how it'll hopefully teach you something.
*I suggest reading the lesson and doing the assignments then actually working on a large piece or something when you read one lesson. Just saves paper.
*Only 6/7 lessons are presented here. Color isn't here, mainly because I don't do color. Like I said, please go read Edward's book. She even has a special book on just coloring, which I totally need to rent for myself at this moment.
Now you can click on the links.
